This FAQ section addresses common questions and concerns that may arise during the deployment of your InStore.ai system. Whether you’re unsure about microphone placement or how to connect your device to WiFi, these answers will help you troubleshoot and complete your setup with confidence.

FAQs:

How can I download the deployment app?

You can download it for iOS via the App Store here.

Who should I speak to about installation when I first walk into the store?

  • Ask for a manager. They should be aware of the installation or check their email for instructions. If no manager is available, request that an employee call one.

Where is the best location for the microphone? Can the mic be touching anything?

  • Place the mic in front of the register, between the customer and employee, and out of the way of other equipment.

  • Ensure the mic is not touching any other items, as this could interfere with recording quality.

  • Before placing it on the register, check if there are any planned changes or upgrades to the register equipment.

Can the microphone be placed in a vertical position?

  • Yes, the microphone can be placed vertically.

How many mics can I set up with one device?

  • Each device supports one microphone.

What is the length of the USB/USB-C cord?

  • The standard length of the microphone cord is 2 meters.

In what case would I need to plug into Ethernet?

  • Devices should preferably be plugged into a designated Ethernet port at the counter. If no Ethernet port is assigned or available, devices can connect via WiFi.

How do I connect the device to WiFi?

  1. Plug the microphone into the edge device and the device into a power source.

  2. Access WiFi settings on your phone or laptop and connect to the "WiFi Connect" network.

  3. A pop-up should appear to select the appropriate SSID network and enter the SSID password.

  4. Click "OK," and the device should reboot and connect to the network.

  5. After 1-2 minutes, check your WiFi settings again. If the "WiFi Connect" network is still visible, repeat the process.

What if I type the wrong password into Wifi Connect?

  1. After a few seconds Wifi Connect will either pop-up or reappear as a Wifi Network and you can re-enter the proper credentials.
